RBD Completes First Prototype of PVS Programmable Voltage Source

RBD has completed the first prototype of our latest product - a Programmable Voltage Source (PVS) that we plan to be capable of providing two channels of voltages from +/- 10 V to +/- 5000 V, in any combination. The final product will also have a voltage monitoring for calibration, and a switchable common channel for providing dual polarity on a single cable. It will have USB connectivity, a simple but powerful API, a dedicated control application, and integration with our 9103 Picoammeter for current measurements.

This first prototype utilizes an Arduino Uno to control the high-voltage module, with a high-voltage probe as a the load, and the 9103 Picoammeter monitoring the resulting current. The final product will likely use a similar Microchip Technology Atmega microcontroller with high-resolution DACs, and will be compatible with virtually all operating systems.
