Advanced Mechanical Surface Testing
RBD Instruments is now representing CSM Instruments’ complete line of mechanical testing products. RBD is proud to be working with CSM, a Swiss company, which has a long history of creating innovative products of extremely high quality. Because the instruments made by CSM are used to determine the mechanical properties of surfaces, they may be a perfect complement to your current XPS, AES, or SIMS system that is used to measure surface composition.
CSM’s products are available in a wide variety of form-factors to fit both your budget and your analysis needs. They cover a range of mechanical testing techniques including indentation, scratch, tribology, and surface imaging (AFM). They are also available in different force-scale models to match your interest in the macro, micro, or nanoscale properties of your samples.
Though many of these instruments are available as stand-alone units (designed for high-throughput analysis), those of you working in research and development labs will be most interested in CSM’s Open Platform. The main advantage of the Open Platform is its modularity – the ability to equip the platform with a variety of different tools depending on your analysis needs. The individual modules are both easy to upgrade and service, and you may add additional modules in the future. The entire suite of tools is controlled by an integrated and intuitive software package.
